Ben Tanner is a record producer, engineer, and musician who was born and raised in the Shoals area. After graduating from Rhodes College in Memphis, and spending a year in Paris, France, Tanner returned to the Shoals to work for FAME Studios. Tanner has played keyboards for the Alabama Shakes since 2011, and is a co-founder (with John Paul White and Will Trapp) of the independent Single Lock Records label.
